 Be sure not to miss this month's family movie at the library. We find
the Grave family moving into their great, great Uncle Arthur
Spiderwick's house where they begin to notice strange accidents and
disappearances happening on a daily basis. At the same time, they begin
to uncover the fantastic truth of the creatures that inhabit the
Spiderwick estate.
This movie has been rated PG and will run 97 min. Refreshments will be
available from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. for a nominal fee. Children age 7
years old or younger must be accompanied by a caregiver who is at least
12 years old.

Dr. David Dreffer Retires . . . |

 Today, June 26, Dr. David Dreffer of Family Eye Care Centers retired
from his Huron based Optometry practice after 40 years of dedicated
service to the community.
A 1963 graduate of The Ohio State University, Dr. Dreffer began his
medical career by serving four years with the U.S. Navy - first at
Guantanamo Bay...

Senate Bill 209 will become effective on June 25, 2008. This law
increases the fines to be assessed for those convicted of a driving
under the influence (DUI) violation. The State legislature has
directed that the increased amount is to be paid to the "Indigent
Defense Support Fund". This money will go through the State Public
Defender's office and will be used for indigent criminal defendants at
the local Public Defender's offices. Here is a brief explanation as to
how fines are increased pursuant to this new law.

A visit to the 3rd annual Taste of Wine and Roses gives wine lovers a
chance to sample many different award winning wines from the
"four-star" vineyards and wineries on the North Coast.
The wine tasting has become a summertime tradition in our area. It is a
project of the Huron Chamber of Commerce and is co-sponsored by Barnes
Nursery, 3511 Cleveland Road W.
