Looking outside at all the snow in my yard it is hard to believe Easter is this Sunday.  An Easter egg hunt outside in the snow could be a lot of fun for the kids.   Those brightly colored eggs will be easy to spot tucked into that bright white snow!
Many Easter meals shared with my family have been a nice brunch served right after church on Sunday morning.  Many recipes are pretty easy to prepare ahead of time and then just warmed up when it is time to serve them.  Here are a couple of my favorite egg recipes.  Some fresh fruit, assorted pastries and a hot beverage will make this meal complete.

Like most people, this time of year I am ready for spring. When March arrives I feel some relief that warm sunny days are ahead. St. Patty's Day is just around the corner and the and early Easter. We will be opening our doors and windows and getting outside before you know it!
St. Patty's Day brings many food and beverage ideas to mind. The traditional being Beer, Irish Whiskey, Corned Beef-n-Cabbage dinners and Reuben Sandwiches. My favorite drink on St. Patty's Day has always been Bailey's Irish Cream stirred into a hot cup of coffee. I decided to get busy and come up with my own new dessert idea with Bailey's in it and here it is!!

I played around with a new Rice Krispies Treat recipe this week and thought kids would just love this. We are all big kids at times because I just loved this combination and so did my teenagers. I thought I would give you a few no bake recipes that are kid friendly and easy to assemble. Spending time in the kitchen together cooking with your kids is a great opportunity to just talk with them. If they don't like to cook, maybe they can work on their homework at the kitchen table while you prepare them a treat!

Thank you for the emails with great compliments and helpful insights.  I love to find new recipes and adapt them to gluten free cooking, but in this case it was gluten free ready!   Kathy Winkler, who reads the Huron Hometown News, would like to share an easy tasty recipe with us on this cold day. This is a great soup to make whether you are gluten free or not.  I thought I would add a quick chili recipe of mine to go along with hers this week since we all crave something hot to eat when it is so cold out.
With the Super Bowl right around the corner, I know we will be gathering recipes soon for the football game party.  How about a crock pot full of this soup and chili recipe and some sandwiches or hot dogs to go with it.  Throw in a variety of snack foods and you can sit down and enjoy the game!
