Celebrate Spring this April with a visit to the April Arts shows in downtown Vermilion. This year, for the second year in a row, the Arts Guild of Vermilion and the Friends of the Ritter Library have joined together to present art shows featuring local artists. Both shows are free of charge to the public.

Mill Manor Care Center Ranks High on Residential Satisfaction PDF Print E-mail

The Ohio Department of Health measured resident satisfaction for overall quality of care and service in nearly 900 of the state's 986 nursing facilities in 2007. All nursing facilities in Erie County participated in the survey conducted by Vital Research who was contracted by ODH to conduct the survey. Mill Manor was #2 out of the nine Erie County facilities based on the results of the survey.

Huron Artists To Display Work in 33rd Annual Arts Festival PDF Print E-mail

The 33rd Annual Firelands Area Art Show and Sale Festival will be held April 5 and 6 at the Ernsthausen Performing Arts Center, Norwalk High School, 350 Shady Lane Dr., Norwalk. Works of art in a variety of media will be shown, including acrylics, oil, watercolor, pastels, silk painting, photography, sculpture, pencil and charcoal drawing, jewelry, and pottery, in the foyer of the arts center in the artist's individual booths, in addition to the formal setting in the gallery. Local artists from Sandusky, Huron, Bellevue, and Norwalk, as well as from Avon Lake, Elyria, and Wellington will be showing.

Business, Government Entities Meet at EHOVE to Discuss Training Needs PDF Print E-mail

ImageWhat skills will be required in the workforce 5, 10 or 15 years from now? Local business and government representatives met at EHOVE Career Center March 14 to identify employment needs and identify ways to best fill gaps in the training process. The "visioning" meeting was the first of several planned in an ongoing attempt to better connect the employment-educational process.
