Huron Artists To Display Work in 33rd Annual Arts Festival |

The 33rd Annual Firelands Area Art Show and Sale Festival will be held
April 5 and 6 at the Ernsthausen Performing Arts Center, Norwalk High
School, 350 Shady Lane Dr., Norwalk. Works of art in a variety of media
will be shown, including acrylics, oil, watercolor, pastels, silk
painting, photography, sculpture, pencil and charcoal drawing, jewelry,
and pottery, in the foyer of the arts center in the artist's individual
booths, in addition to the formal setting in the gallery. Local artists
from Sandusky, Huron, Bellevue, and Norwalk, as well as from Avon Lake,
Elyria, and Wellington will be showing.

Business, Government Entities Meet at EHOVE to Discuss Training Needs |

 What skills will be required in the workforce 5, 10 or 15 years from
now? Local business and government representatives met at EHOVE Career
Center March 14 to identify employment needs and identify ways to best
fill gaps in the training process. The "visioning" meeting was the
first of several planned in an ongoing attempt to better connect the
employment-educational process.

Goodwill Program Shows Increase in Individuals Served |

The Workforce Development Services, Sandusky Bay Area Goodwill
Industries, provided to disabled and disadvantaged persons in 2007 grew
nearly 46% over the total for 2006.
The Sandusky-based nonprofit organization said in an announcement about
2007 fiscal-year results, that it supplied 1,452 services to 711
individuals last year. Most of the recipients resided in Goodwill's
service area comprising parts of Erie, Huron, Ottawa and Sandusky
counties.

Huron Ace's Frog has a Sunny Name |

 On Monday, March 17th when the green department at Huron Ace Hardware
officially opens, "Sunny the Frog" will be there to help customers
learn about ways to be good to the earth. Frank Kath of Huron
submitted the winning entry in the Name the Frog Contest held in
February and is the winner of the $100 first place prize.
