BGSU Firelands Celebrates Arbor Day |

At 12:30 p.m. on Friday, April 25 in the Peace and Tranquility Garden,
near the Dorothy Deering Instructional Terrace in the James H. Bride
Arboretum on the campus of BGSU Firelands, the College's Science and
Environmental Club will sponsor a tree-planting ceremony in cooperation
with Erie MetroParks. Barnes Nursery is donating the Red Oak. The Arbor
Day Celebration is free and open to the public.

Take a Sailboat Ride and Benefit United Way |

Harbor North Marina will host an open house on May 31 and June 1 as
part of a campaign called "Discover Sailing!" to promote the sport of
sailing and benefit United Way of Erie County.
Harbor North will sponsor sailboat rides, demonstrations, free
refreshments and a number of other activities between 10:00 a.m. and
3:00 p.m. to encourage people to learn more about sailing and become
involved in the sport. Proceeds from the sailboat rides (suggested
donation is $10 per person) will help benefit the United Way of Erie
County.

U.S. Route 250, Erie County
U.S. 250, at its overlap with State Route 113, is restricted to one
lane of bi-directional traffic as part of a bridge replacement and
repair project. U.S. 250 traffic has shifted onto the current westbound
lanes, and single lane traffic patterns will remain in place until the
end of June. The project is scheduled to be completed on May 30, 2009.

Celebrate Spring At The Catawba Island Boat Show & Wine Fest |

Wine fans should be sure to check out this year's Catawba Island Boat
Show, the fourth annual show to be held at the picturesque Catawba
Island Club in Port Clinton, Ohio. Vineyards from across the northern
region of the state will offer samples during a wine tasting on
Saturday, May 3.

County Waste Management District Plans Meetings |

The Erie County Solid Waste Management District would like to invite Erie County Residents to the Solid Waste Management District Plan Update Meetings, which will be held at local libraries throughout Erie County. The meetings will discuss the Solid Waste District in general, the plan and proposed updates, and why this is important to the residents.
