ImageFirelands Regional Medical Center is pleased to announce that Rick Brown has joined the organization as Executive Chef / Assistant Director of Nutritional Services. Brown is responsible for planning, coordinating and directing all activities related to the food production system and retail programs.
Brown joins Firelands with 20 years of experience in the restaurant business. Previous employment includes the Sandusky Yacht Club and the Fremont Country Club. Rick Brown currently resides in Oak Harbor with his wife Tonia and four children.

* Tuesday, June 10 - "Autism in Adolescence" Topics include fitting in
socially, making friends and transitioning into adulthood.
* Tuesday, July 8 - "Basics of Sensory Integration" Topics include
sensory techniques and support for school and home settings.

The Vacationland Band rehearsals for the 2008 summer concert season will be on Tuesdays, starting June 3, at 7 p.m. in Zion Lutheran Church, Columbus & Jefferson Streets, Sandusky. Vacationland Band is an area-wide community concert band, comprised of musicians from Erie and adjacent counties, ages 18 to over 80, who gather weekly to share the enjoyment of music. Summer concerts include opening the July 4th downtown events at 10 a.m., a Thursday evening Gazebo series concert at 7 p.m. on July 24th, the Erie County Fair, Ohio Veterans Home, Erie County Senior Center and more. New members are welcome. Interested persons may call 419-433-5250 for additional information.

 
Band to Recapture the American Spirit at Huron's Boat Basin This Saturday PDF Print E-mail

If you come to the Huron Boat Basin this Saturday at 7 p.m. you will find The Lost State of Franklin, a band that recaptures American Spirit, there. That will be June 7 and may mark a historical journey for you down the lane of many old country and folk tunes.
In addition to playing energetic and authentic covers of greats like Johnny Cash, Elvis, Chuck Berry, Patsy Cline and Hank Williams, the band will play select and catchy originals such as "Clint Eastwood" and "21st Century Woman" that have won them awards.
