Kid Friendly Recipes

I played around with a new Rice Krispies Treat recipe this week and thought kids would just love this. We are all big kids at times because I just loved this combination and so did my teenagers. I thought I would give you a few no bake recipes that are kid friendly and easy to assemble. Spending time in the kitchen together cooking with your kids is a great opportunity to just talk with them. If they don't like to cook, maybe they can work on their homework at the kitchen table while you prepare them a treat!

CHOCOLATE PEANUT BUTTER SQUARES
6 cups of chocolate rice cereal of choice
6 cups rice cereal of choice
8 cups miniature marshmallows
6 Tbsp butter
1/2 bag of peanut butter chips
Chocolate sprinkles
In a large microwave safe bowl melt 3 Tbsp butter and 4 cups of marshmallows on high for 3 minutes, stirring after 2 minutes. Stir until smooth. Add 6 cups of the chocolate cereal and stir until mixed well. Using a buttered spatula or waxed paper press mixture evenly into a 9 x 13" pan that has been greased with butter or coated with cooking spray. Set aside.
Repeat using the rice cereal and adding 1/2 bags of peanut butter chips to the marshmallow mixture. You may need to microwave a little longer to make sure the peanut butter chips are melted. Now press this mixture on top of your chocolate mixture in you 9 x 13" pan. Immediately sprinkle with your chocolate sprinkles. Let set and cut into squares for serving. Store in an airtight container.

CINNAMON TORTILLA CRISPS
Flour Tortillas
Butter
Cinnamon Sugar (mix cinnamon& sugar together to taste)
Caramel Sauce
Vanilla Ice cream
My son likes to make this recipe. Melt a little butter in a medium skillet. Place a flour tortilla in a pan and brown tortilla on both sides until it becomes firm and crispy. Remove from pan and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar. Drizzle with caramel sauce. Cut into triangles and serve with a scoop of Vanilla ice cream.

PEANUT BUTTER DIP
8 Oz cream cheese (softened)
1/2 cup peanut butter (smooth or crunchy)
3/4 cup powdered sugar
1 Tbsp milk
1 1/2 cups of whipped topping
Beat cream cheese until smooth. Add the peanut butter and milk and beat until creamy. Slowly add the powdered sugar until well blended. Stir in the whipped topping. Serve with your favorite cookies. Taste good with celery sticks or apple slices too!!
