Tonight: 10 April - Second Thursday Seminar
Just in time for the spring gardening - Beginning at 7 p.m. this evening "Perennials by Mary" will be presented by Master Gardner Mary Strayer.

Mary writes for several area papers, and most recently, has been published in Better Homes and Gardens, Country Gardens.  Mary will share her years
of acquired knowledge about perennials for all gardens. For more information, call 419-433-5009. Second Thursday Seminar is sponsored by the Huron Garden Club. This event is free and open to the public.

National Library Week
Celebrate National Library Week from April 13 to 19 by coming to the Huron Public Library. Watch for local VIP's to be your "Librarian for a Day" during National Library Week.

We are inviting you to sweeten your week with Chocolate Painting on Wednesday, April 16 at 7 p.m.   Join Judy Horchler of Tre Sorelle Cioccolato as she guides us through the sweet art of painting on a blank chocolate canvas. All participants will take their creations home. This class for adults (18 yrs. & older) is free but space is limited. Please call 419-433-5009 to register.

Food for Fines Week - April 13 - 19
Help support your local food bank while paying your library fines this week at the Huron Public Library. Bring in an overdue item along with a nonperishable food item, and we will waive the fine for that item.
Food for Fines does not apply to previous fines. Donations collected will be distributed by the Huron Food Pantry. Thank you! For more information, call 419-433-5009.

Mystery Book Group
Huron Public Library's Mystery Book Group will meet on Wednesday, April 16 at 7 p.m. to discuss Stealing with Style by Emyl Jenkins.   Sterling Glass is asked to appraise some antique jewelry that has been appearing at the local Salvation Army store. Sterling not only finds some rare treasures but also uncovers a dangerous plot of greed and deceit. If you would like to join this group, please call the library at 419-433-5009.


Thursday Night Theater
For a great family night out, come to Thursday Night Theater at the Huron Public Library on Thursday, April 17 from 6 - 8 p.m.
April's movie is a magical motion picture rooted in one of the most enduring and intriguing legends of our time. A young boy finds a mysterious enchanted egg and what hatches from it will set in motion an adventure that will take him on the journey of a lifetime as the sea creature of Scottish legend is born.
This movie has been rated PG by the Motion Picture Industry of America and will run 111 minutes. Children age 7 years old or younger must be accompanied by a caregiver who is at least 12 years old.
Refreshments will be available for a nominal fee from  5:30 pm to 6:30 PM, sponsored by Teen Library Council.
While at the Library, be sure to take time to enjoy our display cases in the entry ways. Each month there is a new display. Some displays are contributed by area patrons other are contributed by staff members.
This month the west display case theme is "Fishing", contributed by the staff and the east display case is "Humpty Dumpty", contributed by Deb Murray.

Online Book Clubs
Now you can discover great books, even if you're too busy to visit the library. Log on to our website at www.huronlibrary.org to check out our Online Book Clubs generously sponsored by "Friends of the Library."
Each day, Monday through Friday, the library emails you a portion of a book that takes about five minutes to read. You're able to read two or three chapters from a book during the week. If you like a book, you can check it out of the library. With 11 book clubs to choose from, there's something for everyone!

Library Fun Fact:  There are more public libraries than McDonalds's in the U.S.-a total of 16,549, including branches.
